 | Your site does not work properly for me! How can I fix this?
Several problems are caused by not having the latest version of Flash. This free software comes standard on new PC's today. It is made by Macromedia, one of the leading software developers and a highly reputable company and only takes a second to download.
Please click here to begin the download. From this page, click on "downloads" (it is located across the top tool bar). This will open up a drop down menu. Chose "get Flash Player" from this menu. That will take you to an installation page. Please read all of the information on this page before clicking on "Install Now". Wait for the "installation successful" message to appear and return to our site.
If the site is still not working properly, please be sure your browser is Internet Explorer version 7. You can download it for free here:
Don’t get version 8 as it is still in BETA. Shut down your browser, then reopen it and come back our site.

 | I received a Gift Cerficate..how do I use it? Your gift certificate works as a form of payment. If you received a gift certificate, you should have received a gift certicate number via email. After you have added all items to your shopping cart, use this number in the space provided on the bottom of the customer information page. This will serve as your form of payment.
Want to send a Gift Certicate? Click here, then fill out the form. The recipient will receive an email saying that you have given them a gift from TopSecretRecipes.com. They can use it to purchase recipes and products! |
 | Is it safe to enter my credit card information? Entering your credit card information on our web site is very safe. | I purchased a few recipes. When will I receive them?
The recipes you've purchased go directly into your personal online recipe box once your purchase is complete. Your recipes are now available on the Top Secret Recipes web site.
To view the recipes you've purchased, please click here. From there, click on the "account login" box located on the right hand side of the page. Use the login information you created when making your purchase. From there you should see a page with four choices. Click on the first link called "Recipe Box". Any recipes you've purchased can be viewed there. |
 | I'm having trouble printing! Make sure you are not attempting to print from your browsers print button. Instead, use the printer friendly button located on each recipe, just below the title of the recipe. Click on the "red" printer button, and be sure to hit okay when your printer dialog box appears. If you cannot see the red print button or if you are not able to print the full recipe, then you are running an older version of Flash. Use the directions above to install Flash. |
 | I live in the U.K. and have trouble finding some of the ingredients used in your recipes. Where can I find them? Here are a few websites that sell US and hard to find products in the UK:
www.americanexpats.co.uk ; ww.cybercandy.co.uk ; www.MexGrocer.co.uk |
 | Many of your recipes call for "Masa Harina". What is it and where can I find it? Masa Harina is corn flour. It is a fairly common ingredient. It can be found in your local U.S. grocery store in the same aisle as flour. |
 | Many of your recipes call for "Half and Half". What is it and where can I find it? Half and Half is a product that is half milk, and half cream. You should be able to find it in your local U.S. grocery store. If you live outside of the U.S., make up your own using milk and cream.

 | In the first book, Top Secret Recipes, the clone recipe for Pancakes from International House of Pancakes® seems to be missing a liquid ingredient. Was something left out? If you have an early copy of Top Secret Recipes, the recipe on page 96 would indeed produce a very strange stack of pancakes (I consider these copies the "rare collector's editions"). Somehow 1 1/4 cup of buttermilk was excluded from the finished book. Simply add the buttermilk to the other ingredients and you will have a great clone of those famous pancakes. You can also refer to the updated recipe here on the site |
 | In the first book, Top Secret Recipes, you have a recipe to clone KFC Original Recipe® Fried Chicken which requires a pressure cooker. Why is it my pressure cooker warns against frying or if I try to fry in my pressure cooker, the safety seal is blown? The recipe was originally designed to require a pressure cooker just as Colonel Harlan Sanders had originally created his recipe (In fact, the original pressure cooker he used is on display under a glass case in Louisville, Kentucky). The Colonel discovered that this method of cooking would cook the chicken in half the time, and create a product that was very moist and juicy inside. However, since my recipe was created, most manufacturers of pressure cookers have discouraged frying in their products, and warn that doing so could be hazardous. For that reason you should NEVER use a pressure cooker to fry anything unless the manufacturer has specifically designed the cooker for this use. I understand that there are now only a few cookers available that you can fry in, and finding one may now be difficult. The alternative is to pan fry or deep fry the chicken, for roughly double the specified cooking time, until the chicken is golden brown.

 | What's up with the water that you add to the caramel for the Twix (pg. 75 Top Secret Recipes) and Snickers (pg. 77 Top Secret Recipes) candy bar clones? For each of the recipes, you should add just 2 tablespoons of water to the caramel when it is melted in the saucepan. If you don't add any water, the candy bars will be too chewy to bite. Too much water, and the caramel becomes thin and runny. Also, regarding the Snickers clone, cut the filling into 4x1-inch sections before dipping, as illustrated in the schematic.

 | How do you come up with the recipes to clone? Many of my ideas come from simply wandering through the supermarket or going out to the many chain restaurants in the country. But most of the ideas come from readers like you who have sent us an e-mail. While I can't always respond to every letter and e-mail, I assure you that I read every one and many suggestions for brand-name clones make it into the books and onto the Web site. |
