First served at Wendy's in 1969, the Frosty continues as a favorite in fast food shakes, even if it comes only in chocolate flavor. This clone recipe is an improved version of the recipe that appeared in the first book, Top Secret Recipes. I've designed this for just a one-person serving and have given it less of an intense chocolate flavor that's more comparable to the real thing as its served today. I find the smaller yield also helps to make the shake blend much better.

1/2 cup milk
4 teaspoons Nesquik chocolate drink mix
2 cups vanilla ice cream

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend on medium speed, stopping to stir several times with a long spoon, if necessary, to help the ingredients blend well.

Makes 1 serving.

I had been really wanting to make one of these but didnt want to buy the nesquick drink mix. So I grabbed one of those big buckets of vanilla chocolate and strawberry and followed the recipe. It tasted just like Wendy's and I'm 13 years old. My parents always talk about how they used to work at Wendy's so I woke my parents up and told them to try it. They thought I somehow went to Wendy's and got it. They even started looking through the trash. Now my whole family wants me to make it!

I made it with 1/2 cup milk, but it was too runny, so I had to add more ice cream. I would suggest 1/4 cups milk instead of 1/2. Other then that, the recipe was really good and tasted like the real thing!

I was sooo happy to find this recipe since we don't have a Wendy's nearby. This was close to the real thing but I used Ovaltine instead of Nesquik. Using less milk also made it less liquid. Just made some for the family this week and they loved it! Guess this will become a staple in the household!

I believe you need the malt ...ovaltine has choclate malt that works better then the quik...to get the real flavor otherwise its just a milkshake not a frosty...

Helps if you have a milkshake blade for your blender. (Oster makes them.) It is taller and makes for a thicker shake. Also helps to use very cold milk and blend it with the powder prior to adding the ice cream. I use unsweetened cocoa powder.

If you want a malty flavor use ovaltine, with the amount of milk it will be thicker as well.

It tasted great and was comparable to a real frosty. Mine was more liquidy than a frosty though, I think I might have to use less milk next time.

Isn't the thing that makes "Frostys" so good is the malt flavor. Amazingly absent in this recipe and it hasn't been mentioned. I'd add 1 TBS to start with then to taste.

Try adding 1/2 cup of Cool Whip to the mixture. It gives it that extra fluffy texture just like the frosty

Good, but I think adding a bit more Quik makes it taste more like a Frosty!
