Yo quiero low-fat Taco Bell? Apparently not when faced with a choice. It took only one year for Taco Bell execs to cut the eight-item Border Lights selection from the Taco Bell menu in 1996. Those items, which featured several different taco and burrito selections, were made with reduced-fat ingredients. But, as other fast food companies discovered with their own discontinued light products, customers who roll into the drive-thrus aren't interested in lower fat offerings. That is their time of the week to bite into something filled with flavor and just enjoy. |
