Popeye's Famous Fried Chicken and Biscuits has become the third largest quick-service chicken chain in the world in the twenty-two years since its first store opened in New Orleans in 1972. (KFC has the number-one slot, followed by Church's Chicken) Since then, the chain has grown to 813 units, with many of them overseas in Germany, Japan, Jamaica, Honduras, Guam, and Korea.

This is just an average fried chicken recipe too heavy on the salt and pepper. It doesn't have the color, texture, or taste of Popeye's. Very disappointed.

I've never eaten popeyes chicken before, but i made it for my friends who have eaten it they said it was darn close to the same thing. Please follow the recipe dont go adjusting any thing tell you've tried it.

This is SO awesome! I prefer their spicy recipe and adjusted accordingly by using two teaspoons of cayenne pepper to only one teaspoon of paprika and it turned out great. I also tried double breading but I don't recommend it. It ended up separating from the chicken and I wound up with these little spicy cakes floating around in the oil.
