Menu Description: "Our appetizing cheese dip with seasoned beef. Served with warm tostada chips."

Take your chips for a dip in this top secret take on Chili's Queso Dip that comes to your table in a small cast iron skillet along with a big bowl of tortilla chips. A popular recipe that's been circulating calls for combining Velveeta with Hormel no-bean chili. Sure, it's a good start, but there's more to Chili's spicy cheese dip than that. Toss a few other ingredients into the saucepan and after about 20 minutes you'll have a great dip for picnic, party, or game time.

I have made this dip several times and all my friends think it is fantastic! I also made a separate batch with the Hormel vegetarian chili for a friend who does not eat meat. Very tasty!

This tastes better then Chili's! It was a quick prep and everyone loved it. It makes a sizable amount of dip too.

This recipe is awesome. I've made it twice. After I make it on the stove top, I transfer to a crockpot on low setting so it will stay warm until friends arrive.

In response to Tib Xero about what type of tortilla chips to eat with this, have you ever made your own? All you do is buy corn tortillas, cut them into triangles and fry them in a frying pan with hot oil. Sprinkle salt on them as you drain them on paper towels. You won't belive how good they are when fresh!!! It will be hard to stop eating them. Try it if you're feeling adventurous. They are as good as a restaurant.

Ok, see I tried to replicate it using Wolf Brand Chili. But you normally only find that in the south. Still it's my favorite brand. At any rate, anyone have a prefrence to what brand tortilla chips to serve with this? I've been using generic "Restaurant Style" but I was curious if anyone had any better luck.
