It's sweet, it's tangy, it's smoky, it's delicious; and it's only available in blister packs by request at one of the 1,237 U.S. Chick-fil-A locations that dot the country. I guess that's why so many of you asked for a clone -- those blister packs are small! But alas, with this top secret formula, you'll have a heaping one cup of a taste-alike version of the delicious sauce to use as you wish; be it as a spread on your favorite sandwiches or as a dressing on a grilled chicken salad.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey

I found the smell and taste where the only things correct the consistency was to thin and almost dressing like not a think sauce like the packet version ( yes i had a through emulsion started already) also the color seemed a little to dark when everything was brought together.

As a Chick-fil-A employee, I am excited to see how close the actual taste is compared to the original. Right now, I'm waiting for it to thicken to pudding-like consistency. A quick taste test revealed that the smoke flavoring may be a little too overbearing. Also, the sweetness is not quite that of the original. A little fine tuning should net a closer copy.

I have never had the opportunity to try the original recipe as I am not in that area, but I did make this sauce and at first, it was sort of ???....then the next morning after sitting it blended and is fansastic...A new favorite, next time I will double, if not triple the recipe...you gotta try it! Thank you Todd, again.

I have been searching for months and months for a good honey BBQ recipe and you guys have nailed it! I was in the kitchen making it before the ink dried on the paper. I did however make a couple of changes for my personal taste. I increased the Ketchup to about 1/4 cup and increased the liquid smoke to about 1 TBS. Good job guys!!!!
