Menu Description: "Chili made with select cuts of tender pork and beef, pinto beans, Piranha Pale Ale and topped with melted jack and cheddar cheeses, sour cream and green onions."

Theres nothing that warms the soul like a hot bowl of spicy chili. And since BJ's is a brewery, the 54-unit chain adds an ingredient that makes a steamy bowl of red even better: Beer! The Piranha Pale Ale that's poured into the chili pot is very similar to Bass Pale Ale, so that's what we'll muster up for our clone Sierra Nevada Pale Ale also works well. Toss everything into the pot over the heat, and in about 90 minutes you'll have enough chili for eight hungry mouths. Serve up the chili in bowls, or more impressively, in the center of hollowed-out sourdough loaves. Nice.

No flavour - what a waste of products and time.

I agree with Karen, heat but no flavor. Doesn't have a rich tomato flavor I associate with chili. The beer was a nice additive, I liked it. Not very popular recipe with my family so will move onto another. Thanks though, glad I tried it.

This was absolutely delicious and easy to make. I do not care much for Chili but when I read the recipe I decided to try it. The only change I would make next time is to add a little more "heat." Maybe some more cayenne.

This is one of the best chilis I have ever had! Goes great with the sourdough bread and the Bass beer on the side.

This is good stuff! Try it with a mix of ground turkey and pork. We also liked some fresh salsa: cilantro, tomato, onion, garlic & a pepper. Served in a fried tortilla shell

This is one of the best simple and delicious recipies of America's favorite winter soup. I have been adding a bottle of beer for years--and like finished taste of the Pale Ale used here. Remember--one for the pot--one for the cook! YUM !

I personally like the addition of ground cumin to my chili..it gives a wonderful flavor..maybe more mexican and I like garlic too. Many of todays popular chili recipes call for masa flour instead of reg flour. It also adds a more authentic flavor to the chili.

It has heat but no flavour. You can taste the beer, Thankfully...but I have made better without a recipe. Always up to try though, you never know what you may find on this site (:
